Restaurant Association of Ireland

The Restaurants Association of Ireland is the representative group for the Irish Restaurant Industry. Founded in 1970 the organisation has over 500 members. The Association provides a wealth of benefits and services to restaurant owners; it also currently provides a comprehensive package of training programmes for restaurant owners, managers/supervisors and operatives, covering a wide range of skills and disciplines. There are ten regional branches of the Association, each of which is headed up by a branch chairperson.

The Associations headquarters is a one stop shop for restaurant owners on all aspects of the restaurant trade. The core business of the Association is to lobby Government Departments, State Agencies and all organisations that shape and affect the restaurant industry Nationally, and at a European level through its organisation HOTREC.

HOTREC is a confederation of hotel/restaurant and cafes within the European Union. The Association also promotes the concept of dining out. One of the main activities in these areas is the publication of the ‘Jacobs Creek Reserve Dining Guide’ and ‘Restaurant Oscars’ which are announced in conjunction with the launch of this publication.
