Join the campaign to highlight the issue this Christmas.
Over the past week 28 restaurants have contacted me in the last 5 days regarding the increasing level of no shows for bookings this year.
This morning I was interviewed on RTE morning Ireland, highlighting the issue which is above 10% of bookings per night in member restaurants.

Things you should do.
· Implement a deposit system for bookings over Christmas and busy events. Average is €10 per cover. However, the RAI reminds all members that they must make decisions relating to the amount of any deposit independently. This is deducted when the customer pays their bill.· State quite clearly what the minimum time to cancel a booking is. 24hrs / 12 hours.
· Invest in a booking management system. The Restaurants Association of Ireland would recommend. http://www.restaurantdiary.com
