The Restaurants Association of Irelandf are delighted to welcome the recently opened  Sargasso Restaurant in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal on board as members. Sargasso situated opposite An Grianán Theatre on the Port Road in Letterkenny Sargasso Restaurant offers Letterkenny a new style of dining experience. Local sourcing, seasonal menus and a relaxed atmosphere give Sargasso a unique quality that is already gaining a strong following of regular food-lovers in the Northwest. Chef Brian McMonagle believes that consistency is one of the most important qualities in any restaurant. “A chef is only as good as their last plate, so your restaurant must be constantly striving to be better all the time” he says. “The only way to build up a regular clientele is to be great every time they come back!”

Brian graduated from Killybegs Tourism College in 1998 and has worked with some of the best chefs in Ireland. Before Sargasso, he was the Head Chef of O’Gradys on the Pier, in Barna Village in Galway, where he won many National Awards including Best Restaurant in Galway, Best Restaurant in Connaught & Best Seafood Experience in Ireland 2011 by the Restaurants Association of Ireland. Brian has also been a recipe contributor to several books including “Tide to Table” by top restaurant guide Georgina Campbell. He has also made several TV appearances including RTE, Clodagh McKenna’s “Fresh From The Sea”.

The restaurant uses the finest and freshest ingredients that they can source and this reflects in the quality of the food served. Situated on the Port Road in Letterkenny, opposite An Grianán Theatre, Sargasso restaurant is open for Dinner from 5pm on Wednesday to Sunday with special early evening/pre theatre menu available.

Sunday Lunch is served from 12.30 – 2.30.Open Bank Holidays Now taking bookings for Christmas Parties.
