O'Connor's Seafood Restaurant, a third-generation family run business, is situated right in the centre of Wolfe Tone Square in the historic West Cork fishing port of Bantry, a town long celebrated in song and legend.
The restaurant specialises in seafood, with a live lobster and oyster tank enjoying a long tradition in O'Connor's. This was the first restaurant in Ireland to specialise in mussels, and the mussels are collected daily by Peter from Bantry Bay Mussels, the prawns arrive in live from the local fishing boats that land in Bantry pier, and the fresh fish is delivered to the restaurant daily. All the fish is local.

As well as fish, the restaurant is loved for its specials, which include West Cork Skeaganore Duck Confit with a Coriander and Ginger Jus, and sweet mountain lamb. The ambiance of the restaurant is relaxed, with its decor influenced by its seaside location. Bucket lights give the room a great atmosphere, and O'Connor's is the place that the Bantry locals love to go to when enjoying a night out.

Peter O'Brien has chosen the wine list with an eye to keen value as well as quality, and there are six wines to choose from, by the glass.

The restaurant is open for informal lunches, as well as a popular early bird menu, and dinner.

Kevin and Ann Dunne established the restaurant, at the crossroads in Moycullen village, 8km from Galway. It is housed in an old stone cottage dating back in 1920s. Cooking is traditional and focused around seafood, with time warp classics such as seafood cocktail Marie Rose, poached fresh halibut Veronique and scallops mornay increasing the sense ? created by the intimate, candlelit interior with its warm red tones and floral lampshades ? of this being a place apart. Meat dishes make no concessions to whims of culinary fashion ? and with some justification, it seems: a traditional roast duckling with orange sauce is among the most popular choices. Details like the fresh flowers, even in the spotless bathrooms, the mint chocolates served with coffee and the professional, attentive service make dinner here feel like a special occasion. The wine list is both comprehensive and exciting with lots of new world discoveries.

ABOUT US

 Paddy Jordan’s Ballina occupies a historic location which was part of the Sir William Black Estate in the eighteenth century.

The conversion of the old habitat to a coach house, comprising of a rest area for travellers with adjacent stables for the weary horses. It was the first hostelry the traveler encountered on entering Ballina. The building was part destroyed by a fire in the 1940’s and subsequently purchased by Patrick Jordan. His son Paddy, who played with Mayo in 1950/51, took over the running of the pub Today his son Peter and his wife Anne own and manage this highly successful business which also operates as a Restaurant. It continues to be an oasis of tranquility  for visitors and provides excellent food and entertainment in its extensive bars and restaurant.

 Since its establishment over 60 years it has seen many changes in market demands. Before the 1970’s it was unheard of a pub to serve food and as one of the first in the area to provide this service it proves that even then our focus on customer needs takes priority.

Today there are many excellent Pubs and Restaurants in Mayo, providing good food and service but what makes us the BEST?

We believe that we provide consistent quality food along with the best service because we are “customer obsessed". Today's customer is very knowledgeable and expects and demands this. Our delivery of food and service is what’s sets us apart from the rest and has been substantiated by our customers through use of comment cards.

Recently   Paddy Jordan’s won Mayo Pub of the Year which we are thrilled about and also received 5 Pints from Sunday Worlds Pub Spy who had very favorable things to say about the pub.

At Paddy Jordan’s there is a strong management team that are committed to high standards in service, quality and hygiene. Our toilets even feature on BEBO!

We carefully select our team members and heavily invest time in training in order to empower them to be the best at their jobs.

MENU’S

In 2002 we noticed a niche in the market place for Indian and oriental cuisine. The demand was so that we started to build a team of chefs to give customers this service. We have since added   Mexican, Italian, Vegetarian  along with European dishes so there is a diverse menu to suit all tastes and most important of all at affordable prices. Our menu also caters for special diets. All this food is also available for Take Out so if you fancy staying in you can phone in an order from the take out menu and we can deliver it to your door.

Families are welcomed at Paddy Jordan’s and are encouraged to sample our worldwide foods so, we have smaller portions available to them to expand their knowledge of different flavors.  We also have colouring pages for young diners to keep them occupied. There are baby changing facilities in our ladies toilets and we also provide high chairs.  In the summer months, weather allowing, we provide a bouncy castle in the garden so Mum and Dad can relax in the sun.

Another niche that has come to light is the demand in outside catering and private parties at home. It seems that ‘staying in is the new going out’ having friends over for food and drinks. This is due to the smoking ban and the drink driving campaign. Although still in its early days we are still building this side of the business and we feel that with a knowhow and experience it will lead to be successful.

WHAT’S ON OFFER/FACILITIES

Our most recent addition is our outdoor smoking and dining area which greatly enhances the exterior of the building and is proving to be very popular for barbecues etc. We also boast of a well manicured garden with seating areas, and  some old world farm equipment to converse over.

Our function room which looks out on a beautiful manicured garden has an old world charm and plenty of antiques to keep you amused. It can seat up to 120 guests but is still intimate for parties of 40/50 people. We cater for all parties such as Birthdays, Anniversaries, Weddings and Christenings the list goes on! And after your night of celebration we can take you safely home in our courtesy bus.

Although Paddy Jordan’s do not have accommodation we have built good relations with excellent B and B’s and hotels nearby which we can recommend without any hesitation.

 Paddy Jordan’s are renowned for their music sessions and welcome all musicians and singers to join in. Through the summer season we have sessions on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Sunday is family day with an open air Barbeque, live music and with a Bouncy Castle for the kids (weather permitting of course!)

 Michie Sushi was established in 2007 and is well known for making high quality sushi. Word of mouth is their best form of advertising and the repeat business makes it what it is today.

Spice Indian Restaurant was open in 2006 by Richard and Emma Lett. Originally situated on South Main Street, we have recently re-located to Monck Street, Wexford (Over the Crown Bar). Spice is beautifully decorated in a style that lends itself to being both contemporary and warm, with rich vivid colours of ruby, green, gold, crimson and purple, all inspired by the Indian colonial era.

Our menu’s are designed with an emphasis on refined yet creative Indian cuisine incorporating both traditional classic Indian favorites and original ‘signature’ dishes that blend Eastern flavours with a Western ‘twist’. Our dishes are prepared with both conviction and a strong held belief that Indian cuisine is not about ‘heat’ but more about a marriage of fine aromatic fresh herbs and spices. Our chef’s are from Kerela, South India and were formerly employed at the 5 star ‘Taj’ group. ‘Spice’ seats 56 people and is open nightly from 5.30pm (5pm Fri & Sat) for both in-house dining and take-away service. We are open all day on Sunday's from 12.30pm onwards. Tucked away in a tiny basement near the Lincolns Inn entrance to Trinity College, you’ll find this unusual bistro offering modest French dining served with a personal touch.
Steep cast iron steps lead promisingly down to a welcoming bright red door and, as you step through into this cosy interior, you could be mistaken for thinking you have entered a small Parisian neighbourhood restaurant, full of character and chic bistro charm.
Deep moody tones of red and purple create a snug bohemian atmosphere and a smart darkwood panelled wine bar and bentwood chairs provide a little Parisian ‘arrondissement’ allure.
A warmly informal tone is set by a friendly duo team of waiter and chef, who welcome guests to choose from a modest menu chalked onto a large blackboard.
Both lunch and dinner menus change daily, offering a handful of enticing French starters, mains and desserts which focus on bold flavours in dishes that will satisfy any appetite: simple rustic cooking at its best.
Begin, perhaps, with a soup or terrine, followed by a ragout of rabbit or pan fried fillet of cod and a well-made fruit compote for dessert.
Expect bold, no frills cooking in classic French style, and a modest wine list that confidently offers only French wines, by the glass and bottle, including a champagne and a couple of dessert wine
