Through funding from Skillnets, the Restaurant & Hospitality Skillnet is delighted to bring you a one day marketing course.
Aim & Objectives
This workshop will help you devise a Marketing Action Plan for your restaurant and bar for this year and next. Most restaurants don’t have a plan of action and are mostly reactive rather than proactive. In many cases the person allocated the responsibility for implementing the marketing activities has little or no experience of marketing.
Once the key marketing activities have been devised – based on clear objectives and goals – the challenge then is to implement them on a budget and in the most effective way possible.
During this day of marketing you will understand marketing, learn how to devise and implement a Marketing Action Plan and understand the importance of effective and low cost marketing activities like social media. The course will be very interactive and challenging!
The session will be for a full day and will include:
- Understanding the difference between marketing, selling and customer care
- Undertake a Marketplace Analysis – use P.E.S.T.L.E. and S.W.O.T techniques
- Set marketing objectives and goals
- Learn about the different marketing strategies
- How to devise an Action Plan
- How to carry out market research to understand customers’ needs
- Understand the most suitable marketing activities
- Select and devise logos and brand strategies
- Use of brand on menus, price lists, printed material
- Identify your USP and communicate it to customers
- Websites and digital marketing
- Social media strategies and tactics = Facebook in particular
- Devising price strategies for meals and functions
- Set a marketing budget
- Upselling tactics for staff
- Use of email signatures, enewsletters, and printed material
