Neil Hughes has many years’ experience in advising Irish businesses, but specialises primarily in corporate recovery. He has extensive experience of examinership matters and is one of the leading experts in Ireland’s formal rescue process. Neil has also lectured widely on the topic ‘restructuring’. He contributes regularly to the print and broadcast media on business matters.
The Seven Cs of Business Recovery – This book provides a framework to help businesses successfully trade through tough times. It sets out the seven principles (Seven Cs) of business recovery that should be employed to ensure the survival of an ailing but viable business. The book was published by Chartered Accountants Ireland in 2010. A Practical Guide to Examinership which is published by the Chartered Accountants Ireland in 2021.

Eoin brings over 14 years’ experience to the role, having worked across a wide range of high-profile domestic and international corporate advisory and restructuring assignments in both Ireland and Australia; having most recently been Associate Director with a top-tier accountancy firm in Adelaide. He has a wealth of experience in SME advisory, Independent Business Reviews and informal and formal restructuring, spanning across a variety of industries such as retail, construction, agriculture, manufacturing and transport.
Eoin has developed a specialisation in complex trade on management, sale of business, project management, due diligence, effectuating business restructures and turnarounds. He has vast experience in all manner of formal restructuring assignments such as receiverships, CVL’s, MVL’s, court liquidations, examinerships and several cross-border insolvencies.
Eoin is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and holds a B.Sc. in Economics and Finance from University College Dublin. He also co-wrote “A Practical Guide to Insolvency”, which was published by Chartered Accountants Ireland in February 2009.
