From 1st January 2020 the following changes will take effect regarding chef work permits.
- There will no longer be a quota restriction on chef work permits
- Commis Chefs will now be an applicable category for chef work permits
- The labour market needs test will now be required to be four weeks rather then two
- There is no longer a restriction of 2 chef work permits per business, the 50/50 rule will come into place instead. This means that a restaurant can have no more than 50% non EEA staff in the business.
